Clio website

So I had no idea of any websites that had to do with ads that I did not have to pay for, so i asked my professor Will and he gave me a list, some of these are good as I visit the sites I will try to give a run down on if this site is good for copywriters, art directors or both.

This site seems to be more based on Art Direction, has some really off the wall stuff as its winners , really conceptual based stuff.

There is one under television ads called T-mobile dance who recently won the gold. It was pretty neat. It seems like they got a bunch of dancers to just break out in dance in the subway with a really loud music system that played all types of popular genre based songs. While the songs transitioned the dancers would switch up there style depending on the music. It is so loud and kind of makes you want to stop and watch or dance with them as you see in the video. I also wondered if they just did the dance in the subway in unison at a random time or pre-planned, because the interaction with the dancers and the pedistrians seemed legit. Had a whole lot of energy. Just watch it and you will get what I mean.

Some inspiring billboard and ambient Ads

http://10steps.sg/inspirations/artworks/50-extraordinary-and-attractive-billboards/

These ads are more then just 2-d billboards they are 3-D or even 4-D. They do an excellent job of manipulating their environments (which were obviously selected by the art directors.) My personal favorites are the Nike Run ad, The Seat Belt commercial in the back seat, and the psp ad. A lot of these are Photo shopped comp ups, which is what is due in the D&AD competition. We are doing some ambient ads in class for the competition, this may give an idea on what they look like...
Enjoy!

German Aids ads

http://wbztv.com/national/Hitler.AIDS.ad.2.1173785.html

These advertisements do a good job in portraying how serious the AIDS epidemic is, plus the idea itself rocks. AIDS = Hitler, Stalin, Kim Jung Ill(did I spell that right), etc

There is a video that is an excerpt of a German television ad, a lot of it is cut so it destroys the suspense and definitely takes away from the intensity of the message, but give it a look. I am sure you will agree with me that the folks at Regenbogen did a good shock ad.
